Nat Slavin is a multimedia artist from the suburbs of Illinois. Living there for nearly 20 years, they have been influenced greatly by the quiet, haunting creeks and breeze of the Illinois landscape, and now, the concrete and demanding surroundings of Chicago. These contrasting forces lay the groundwork for what Slavin exemplifies best- friction. Slavin often uses text and repurposed found objects in their work, with a close arm around the themes of identity, mental illness, paradigms, and inquisition.
